Student works from 2013-2015 Design 2B and Design 3A classes at Rutgers, Mason Gross School of the Arts

This is a showreel that displays screencasts from the final presentations of the students in Design for the Digital Realm class. Throughout the class students, focusing on UI/UX, complete three large scale projects, a portfolio, a publication and a service design project.

In this assignment students are asked to come up with a piece of poetry of their own in the format of an haiku and then analyse the rhythmic structure of the piece and move the type accordingly. Sound tracks are found.

Students code to create their own digital imaging process that works with the built in camera of their computers. Using this custom designed camera they record a short self portrait. Processing is used as the development platform.

This assignment is about designing a living organism whose habitat is the browser screen. Organism react to different inputs. These videos are screencasts of the interaction.

pattern

These generative patterns are produced by the students using various mathmatical functions and using algorithmic drawing techniques. Processing is used as the development platform.

This video displays Design 2B students showing and telling their experimental endeavours on physical interaction design using electronic sensors, I/O prototyping boards and open source programming platforms.

This is a video documentation of a one day long workshop in the context of the Design 2B course. Students, in groups, design animations for site specific installation.

Books for the digital realm.

These type in motion animations are produced on the occasion of NJTV broadcast of Rutgers Film Bureau documentaries. Design 2B students designed and produced the titles for these documentaries for local broadcast.
